Easy Peasy Shopping at Evanscycles エバンスサイクル買い物談

驚くほど簡単に事が運び、些か拍子抜けです。

先日、子どもたちのためにサイクリングウエアを探しているうちにロンドン滞在中にお世話になったEvans Cyclesのサイトにたどり着き、思わずポチッとしてしまったことを書きました。（詳しくはここ）

あとで、VAT返還の手続きやらなら日本の通関手続きやらがあるかなぁとぼんやりと心配していましたが、一昨日品質の粗悪な柔らかめの段ボール箱がイギリスから届きました。当然ですが、商品はどれも注文したとおりに入っており、子供に試着させてみてもなかなかの格好良さでした。

箱の中には納品書と箱の外には通関の書類が同封されていました。よくわからなかったので、詳しい方のウェブを読んでみると、私の理解していなかったルールがいくつか存在したようです。

１，まず、Evans Cyclesでは注文総額が50ポンドを超えると送料を負担してくれること、
２．ウェブ上の価格は、イギリスの消費税（VAT）17.5%含まれる価格が表示されているが、日本から注文すると自動的にそのうちの15%は減額されて計算されること。
３．残念ながら自転車本体の購入は制限されている場合も多い。（買える物もあるが、送料が無料となる金額は2000ポンド以上）
４．日本で支払うべき消費税５％は、課税対象額の5％として計算される。課税対象額とは、購入金額の60%として計算され、対象額が10000円以下の場合には免税となるのだそうです。つまり、購入商品の総額が16666円以下になるように購入すれば日本での消費税は免除されることになります。

画面を見ると注文から商品の到着まで10日かかっていないことが分かります。バスケットには自分用の次のお買い物候補が……
It took less than 10 days to get these items.  There are two more items in the basket.  This time for myself.

偶然ですが、私の場合、購入金額が118.32ポンド、課税対象額が70.99ポンド（日本円で9301円）ですので、送料はEvans Cyclesが負担となる50ポンドを超え、課税対象額は日本円で10000円以下に納まる金額になっていました。

  I was rather astonished that It was so easy to buy cycling clothes from UK and I received them with no problem.  As I wrote previously, I bought them from the EVANS CYCLES, UK website(details here) the other day.

   After that I checked several websites to learn about the rules of private import from overseas, especially from UK.  There are several rules which I did not know.
1.  Evans cycles will pay the shipping costs if the total amount of order exceed 50 pounds.
2.  VAT of UK is 17.5% and 15% will be paid back to the customers if purchased from overseas.  Evans cycles website automatically calculate 15% subtracted prices.
3.  Some of bicycles can not be purchased from overseas and these are tagged "UK delivery only"”Ship2store only”
4.  Consumption tax of Japan will be imposed 5% of "net taxable amount"= 60% of total price. If the net taxable amount was below 10000yen (or total price was below 16666yen,  consumption tax will not be imposed.

   Luckily, I ordered kids' clothes and total price was over 50 pounds and the net taxable amount was 9301yen, I did not have to pay either shipping cost or consumption tax of Japan.
